Affordable Shared Helicopter Tour Over Nusa Penida Marine Life Bali
My Bali trip just got a serious upgrade, and it didn’t break the bank thanks to an affordable shared helicopter tour. Forget crowded boat trips; this was a game-changer. I booked a scenic flight over Nusa Penida’s incredible marine life, and it was every bit as spectacular as I’d hoped.
Taking Flight from Nusa Dua
The helipad is conveniently located in Nusa Dua, which is also the starting point for tours covering landmarks like GWK and Uluwatu Temple. My tour was the standard 20-minute option, and at IDR 4,490,000 per seat, it felt like an incredible value for such a unique experience. They even included complimentary beverages and a photo with the pilot, which was a nice touch. The whole process was smooth and professional from start to finish.
Once we were airborne, the views were immediate and striking. We flew over the Badung Straits, and true to what I’d heard, we actually spotted Manta Rays below! Seeing their majestic forms gliding through the clear turquoise water from that height was absolutely unforgettable. The perspective you get from a helicopter is just exceptional; you truly appreciate the vastness and vibrant colors of the coral reefs and the sheer scale of the marine ecosystem.
Beyond the 20-Minute Glimpse
While my 20-minute tour was amazing for focusing on Nusa Penida’s marine life, I did learn that for a more comprehensive view of Bali’s diverse landscapes, a 30 to 60-minute flight is highly recommended. These longer tours cover a broader range, including the dramatic limestone cliffs of Uluwatu and the striking black sand beaches of the north. On North Bali helicopter flights, you can even see the majestic volcano of Mount Agung in the background, a truly iconic sight. It’s definitely something I’ll consider for my next visit, as there’s so much more to see from above than just the southern beauty.
