Frequently Asked Questions
Below are honest answers to the questions we are most often asked about Indonesia helicopter tours, charter operations, safety, pricing and logistics.
How safe is a helicopter tour in Indonesia?
When operated by DGCA-certified operators with current type-rated pilots, helicopter tours have a strong safety record. The most important variable is operator discipline — we postpone weather-marginal flights routinely. Single-engine sightseeing operations are statistically safer than many forms of recreational travel.
How much does a Bali helicopter tour cost?
Bali helicopter tours range from IDR 18M (USD 1,170) for a 30-minute Bukit sunset loop to IDR 75M (USD 4,900) for a 90-minute multi-region package. Most popular packages are 60-minute tours at IDR 32M (USD 2,100) for 4 to 6 passengers.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Bali tours: 5 to 7 days lead time standard, same-day occasionally possible. Bromo: 10 to 14 days. Raja Ampat: 14 to 21 days, with peak season requiring 30+ days. Jakarta executive transfers: 24 hours preferred, same-day possible.
What happens if weather cancels my flight?
Weather cancellations are refunded in full or rescheduled at no extra cost. We postpone rather than push weather; this is a feature of our safety culture.
Are children allowed on helicopter tours?
Children 4 years and over are welcome with adult chaperone. Each passenger requires their own seat for safety reasons (no lap children).
Can I take photographs from the helicopter?
Yes, photography is encouraged. Phones, mirrorless and DSLR cameras are all welcome. Standard cabin configuration. Open-door cinematography charters are available separately for professional work.
What about luggage and personal items?
Soft bags only inside the cabin (4 kg per passenger limit). Hard cases stay in vehicle. Long-haul charter (e.g., Raja Ampat full-day) accommodates additional gear with prior notice.
What is the maximum passenger capacity?
H130: 6 passengers. Bell 505: 4 passengers. AW109: 6 passengers. AS350 B3: 5 passengers.
Aggregate weight limits apply; pilot confirms during pre-flight.
Do you operate IFR / night flights?
Yes — AW109 Trekker is IFR-certified and operates night transfers in the Jakarta corridor. Standard sightseeing operations are VFR daytime only.
